Company
Xiton Photonics GmbH was founded as a spin-off from the Technische Universität Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 2004. Xiton manufactures and supplies innovative laser sources that have substantial advantages in applications including industry and science. The first laser systems were successfully integrated into customer facilities in 2004. Xiton do not serve only as a supplier, but as a solution manager, allowing customers to concentrate on their core competence.
Our product portfolio consists of a variety of Q-switched, diode-laser-pumped solid-state laser systems with single transverse mode beam profile at high power densities.
The standard laser systems are based on the wavelengths 1342 nm or 1064 nm. The systems are constructed for full high reliability operation and designed for low-maintenance. Three different series cover the power range of 1-10 W average output power (XV
Application areas of the laser systems include:
- Spectroscopy
- LIF, PIV
- Wavelength sensitive processes
- Stereo-Lithography
- Greyscale-Marking
- Micro-Material processing
- Rapid-Prototyping
Xiton Photonics offers additional laser sources with unique capability characteristics:
- Xiton are the only manufacturer capable of supplying Q-switched laser radiation at high average output power of up to 2 W at the wavelengths of 671 nm and 447 nm (IDOL
- and XV -Series). - With Xiton laser systems it is possible to generate almost every wavelength in the range of 5 µm down to 600 nm with high average power through Optical Parametric Generation (XOPG
). These systems only need a wall-plug to operate. - If the emission bandwidth of the laser radiation is of significant importance, Xiton Photonics offer laser systems with cw seeded Fourier-limited pulses possessing bandwidths of below 80 MHz(SLM
-Series). With these systems, Xiton pushes into operating regimes formerly open only to flash lamp pumped, low repetition rate lasers. Thus data acquisition rates can now accelerated by a factor of up to 1000, gaining a great time advantage. - Single frequency emission is also available for the system OPG if pumped by the single frequency SLM. The availability of an appropriate cw seed source is necessary in this case (S-OPG). The bandwidth of such systems are below 200 MHz.
- With the SYNCHRO
option, two arbitrary Xiton Photonics laser systems can be synchronized pulse by pulse, even at kHz-frequencies. The timing jitter is lower than 500 ps. There are no accidental dropouts as produced by normal kHz-systems. Every pulse pair have their own quartz precise pulse delay.
